Haitian Actor Dieufaite Pierre-Louis Shot and Killed in Haiti
Tragedy struck this week… Haitian actor Dieufaite Pierre-Louis has been killed. He was 31.

The details are sketchy, but initial reports are that the emerging actor was killed by gunfire in Haiti Thursday night (November 6, 2014).

Dieufaite, who made his acting debut in “Love me Haiti” short film, was in Boston last month to attend the MPAH Haiti Movie Awards. “Love Me Haiti” won for Best Short Film Award. According to sources, Dieufaite was granted special visa to attend the award show.

May he rest in peace!

Co-stars and fans were stunned and took to Twitter to send their condolences to Dieufaite’s family.

The news of the actor Pierre-Louis Dieufaite’s death is really sad and a great loss indeed to all of us who have had contact with him. He was an outstandingly talented actor. May he rest in peace and love. [Love Me Haiti]

It’s a very devastating new. I just can not believe this happened… Jude was a great person and I remember his kindness and his shy smiles when we shot LMH together. I am really chocked… Wish he could have staid longer in Boston [Aurelia Khazan, co-star]

[Aurelia Khazan]

Truly devastating news. Jude was such a great and mellow person. He and my brother in Haiti were very close friends. He will be greatly missed. Still having a hard time with this. [Robinson Vil]

Your passing is still surreal, only God knows why this had to happen to you. Such amazing and talented young man, may your soul rest in peace and the murderer brought to justice. Peace and Love WestI — feeling sad. [Westi]

I wish I had told him to stay in Boston, not to come back to Haiti. We were best friend and went to the same school in Fontamara. Neg tirel la se coward li ye, li ka menm neg kap bwe bye avel kife konplo sou dol. Moun ki tirel, moutre figiw non [Stoo]

Rest in peace Jude Dieuly Pierre-louis, I was just with him in Boston about a week ago, great guy. We were talking about future collaboration on upcoming projects. This is truly unbelievable and devastating. My heart breaks for you Jude, your family and Fredley’s family. This was a senseless act and I truly hope that those responsible are brought to justice. You will be greatly missed. Damn. [Robinson Vil]

Samuel Vincent is no longer a bachelor!

The director of the psychological thriller film “Natalie” tied the knot with Haitian actress Dieulanie Claude on Saturday November 15, 2014.

Vincent proposed to Claude earlier this year, and Claude took to social media to share the happy news along with pictures posing with her husband-to-be.

samuel-dieulanie-propose

A few months ago, this AweSam man asked me to be his lifelong companion. Of course, I said YES! Sorry, you can’t see the ring. I tried, but it wouldn’t fit onto the screen :-)

Dieulanie Claude made her acting debut in Ronald Tima’s film “Reflexion” (2012), following which she appeared in “Forgiveness 2“, a 2013 drama film shot by Samuel Vincent. “Forgiveness 2″ tells the story of Roger who found out that he wasn’t the father of his wife Sheila’s 7-year-old boy three years later. Despite the emulation and the hurt, he stayed with his wife. He relocated his family from New York to Miami Florida. However, Sheila still tormented by her mistake as an anonymous caller Sonia (Dieulanie Claude) keeps reminding her of the past.

Dieulanie Claude received her first Haiti Movie Awards nomination for Best Actress for her role in Reflexion.

The two look very happy together.

Raynald Delerme Dropped All Charges Against RTNH in Piracy Case

Haitian movie director Raynald has dropped all charges against Radio Television National d’Haiti (RTNH) for unauthorized airing of his movie “Dyab Baba.” The director also got compensation. Read full press release below.

Press Release – English Version – Courtesy of Belfim

I am pleased to inform the general public and all those whose respect for intellectual property and copyright concerns in Haiti, that following negotiations with the General Directorate of RTNH, it decided to adequately compensate me for the unauthorized airing of my film “Dyab Baba” broadcasted on the Haiti public television station (TNH).

I hereby confirm that all legal action at the national, international level and from the Haitian Bureau of Copyright (Bureau Haitien du Droit d’Auteur – BHDA) against RTNH are now suspended.

I congratulate the General Directorate of RTNH who have opted for an amicable solution. This is a big step for Haiti as part of Haitian laws and international conventions signed by Haiti regarding the respect for intellectual property, copyright and related rights.

I encourage BHDA and CONATEL to work towards this agreement to better protect the interests of creators and Haitian artists. (Port-au-Prince, March 19, 2015 – Raynald Delerme)

Here’s the description of Jean Claude Guillaume’s GoFundMe campaign:
